Jumped when they brought in Beau Bridges and Lolita Davidovitch. About two episodes later it turned into a soap opera about who wasn't getting along with who. Before those two showed up it was all dirty tricks and arm twisting Chinese embassy staffers in the interests of protecting democracy.
Who'd have believed the 'Teen Idol' Shaun Cassidy was this talented.
Another example of a great show being taken off the air.
Where are these network executives when we need them. All these garbage "REALITY" shows should be taken to an island with no imunity chalanges and then the island should be nuked.
Th Agency was very good and should never have been pulled!!!

In one of the later episodes, the CIA was refered to as a "criminal organization." After the 9/11 attacks, the viewing public would never accept such a characterization of this organization. It was a good show, it revealed some of the "dirty tricks" that the CIA and its spooks engaged in.
CBS jumped the shark when they cancelled one of the few remaining series that actually had an unpredictable element. The station has developed a particular tendency to cancel most any intelligent show that doesn't fit the crime drama mold.
When CBS moved it to Saturday night. In this move they changed characters, themes (added love themes) and just wasn't cutting edge like it had been in the first year.
This show never jumped. The only one who jumped was stupid CBS for dropping this show. It was great!
The Agency was definitely my favorite show. It completely had me hooked in the second season. I was really enjoying the chemistry between Terri and Stiles and couldn't wait for them to get together again. TA did well during Feb sweeps, only one episode did not have a major plotline for them. After sweeps we really saw nothing of their relationship and ratings began to drop. Until the last three episodes and unfortunately by then they had lost viewers. I think that had they been renewed they would have focused on Terri and Stiles more and the show would have done better in the ratings.
This show never did. I liked the first season, but the relationship between Terri and Stiles kept me interested right until the last minute of the last show when he arrived to rescue her.
The Agency had so much going for it in the beginning, with a stellar cast, wonderful characters, and superb writing. Unfortunately, the network did was networks do best - mess with a good thing. In an effort to retool the show, towards the end of the first season the focus shifted from field operations to backstage politics and they added Beau Bridges to the cast. Now, I hold nothing against Bridges or his character Tom Gage. But the focus shift just wasn't necessary. That was what led to the departure of series lead Gil Bellows, which in turn led to even more retooling in the second season. They shifted Terri out of her artistic and technical role (which was perfect) into a field operative - she became a Sydney Bristow wannabe. That and a host of other changes and missed opportunities contributed to the downfall of a great program. Though there was a downward trend prior to the jump, The Agency definitely jumped the shark at the start of its second season. When will CBS and the other networks learn that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?"
There is no doubt about this one, the first season it was a serious spy show, something different then the rest. Next thing I know Paige Turco is gettin it on with the new guy, lying out in a bikini, etc., etc. I love Paige, don't get me wrong, but when this became Hart to Hart in foreign and exotic locales this show really did a 180 and Jumped. They also don't use Will Patton's strengths enough, he's a great actor. Real disappointment, I had high hopes for it because I loved most of the original cast (Patton, Carroll, Rueben, Turco, Clennon).
I love this show. Especially the second season with Stiles (Jason O'Mara) and his relationship with Terri (Paige Turco). She is most certainly not a bimbo, get a life people.
As for people saying nasty things about Terri, I must say get a life! She is the perfect portrait of a genius woman. Just because she is smart that doesn't mean that she has to put on a chastity belt on anything. And you if you that call her a bimbo never had that kind of urge to be with someone and them afterwards realized that should have take it slowly, them though luck. Maybe you have so many sexual problems that you should look for a specialist to treat you. I mean, c'am women fall in men's arms everyday, sometimes she start to have feelings for the guy and sometimes is just one night stand. She is not a bimbo for trying, whoever called that is a sexist person because you think that a woman putting herself out there is something so outrageous. Plus in Stiles' and Terri's case they showed that they are really having feelings for each other and that Stiles likes her a lot.
