The whole point of the show was about money. Half hour shows are easier to syndicate than hour-long shows. It was a bad idea, so you have to say day one.
The moment it started repeating the same jokes over and over (almost immediately). If it started well, it would have begun to decline after the whole frog flushed down toilet thing...
The show lacked subplots. The sideshows are the funniest part of the hour long show and by cutting it to merely one storyline per episode, it lost its appeal.
The show Ally Mcbeal is grrrrreeeaat! But trying to make another show??? (Ally) What were they thinking? I think they just wanted more money. Half an hour show, with no courtroom drama (which is a good part) and bouncing around from new to old episodes to make one little show? Clever name! I know I sound like a sarcastic bastard but why ruin a good thing? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
The day the TV show aired while the show it was based on was still on the air. No doubt this show jumped at the moment the idea was conceived.
I REALLY LIKE ALLY MCBEAL, BUT WHEN THEY STARTED TO PLAY THE EPISODES TWICE A WEEK, ONE FOR 1/2 HR. AND THE OTHER FOR 1 HR. IT GOT REALLY CONFUSING AFTER THAT.
I hate this show with a passion!!! I Have to wonder what the producers were thinking when they did this. Ally McBeal is a great show, but this little 30 minute re-run stuff is terrible. I hate it.
I'm surprised this show hasn't been listed yet. After all, it's not the same as "Ally McBeal," and the sheer volume of its suckiness demands that it become a target for loathing. ("Ally" takes old AMcB episodes and makes them into 30-minute sitcoms.) God, whoever had this idea is headed toward their own little room in Hell. If you like "Ally McBeal," watch it. But for God's sake, if there is a single person out there watching this weird-ass retread, you need to get a life. There IS other programming out there!
